Find a sunscreen that doesn’t include PABA. This ingredient is recognized as one that can create problems for people suffering from eczema. Also, be sure to look at the ingredient list for any other things that may irritate your skin. If you aren’t sure about what to use, you can speak with a doctor to get a prescription sunscreen.

Wear clothes that do not irritate or scratch your skin. Synthetic fabrics can lead to outbreaks. Cottons are best to wear if you have eczema. Additionally, be sure to wash newly purchased clothing prior to wearing it. You want to use a detergent that is mild and with no scent, and be sure that no fabric softener is used.

Make sure that your nails are clean and trimmed. Scratching can seriously complicate eczema. This can create a rash, and if you have longer nails, it could make the issue worse. Make sure you clean beneath your nails every day.

Enjoy a warm bath to soothe your skin. Make sure that the water is lukewarm. Sprinkling colloidal oatmeal or baking soda in your bath water can help relieve your itchy skin. Or, you could pour 1/2 cup of bleach into a standard bath to reduce skin bacteria.

Moisturize your skin if you have eczema. You will find this most effective in reducing flare-ups. Moisturize as often as possible, especially after you bathe so your skin stays soft and supple. Rather than using chemical-laden moisturizers, use those that are natural and unscented.
